An Organization with 27 yrs of history  To enhance the quality of life and dignity of Dalits in India in the larger perspective of  Human Rights and holistic & Participatory Development

Dalit Panchayat Movement is the first of its kind in India for the internal governance in Dalit community. Active in 1020 villages in Tumkur district. REDS initiated and supports DPM for integration of Dalits into the Instruments and mechanisms of National governance in India.

Booshakthi Kendra, The Dalit Ashram – International Dalit Cultural Center; keeps on engaging people in a cyclic education process. Disseminates information to them and gain all their native wisdom; Focus on latent strength of Dalit people and build success after success. Complete transformation of self-image leading to strong assertion and establishment of rights; Leadership in the hands of women has brought great returns for the investment of organizational energy and time

Works in 1646 villages with 1018 Volunteers. Works in 9 Taluks of Tumkur District and in 12 other Districts of Karnataka. Campaigns in entire country for electoral reforms. REDS is an international opinion leader on Dalit issues. Renders critical cooperation to Government. Received many national and International awards.

Result of REDS’ work till now

9698.16 acres of land recovered till now, worth Rs. 1424,274,000 = 23,737,900 Euro; 15 million rupees worth of Government benefits gained every year through Dalit Panchayats; All local expenses for resurgence sponsored by Dalits themselves; Focus on Internal Governance for building up a community tradition,  for political empowerment, for conflict resolution skills and greater managerial skills; Abiding respect for Mother Earth and Ancestors; Develops alternative learning and value based leadership in India.

1018 Dalit Panchayats formed for internal governance; 10180 village level Dalit leaders being trained; 5090 Dalit women in leadership position; 80% untouchability eradicated, atrocity on Dalits completely stopped. Internal Governance leading to Power as Participation in Instruments and Mechanisms of State & National Governance; 703 DP members elected as Gram Panchayat members;

CERI initiated with strong signs of success. German electoral system researched, electoral systems of Norway and New Zealand researched.

Dalit Panchayat Movement started in 12 Districts of Karnataka;                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

One major Book a year has become a habit to internationalize Dalit cause; National & International Alliance on fast forward mode; REDS work started in Nepal.

World Parliament of Indigenous Peoples initiated

Entered the CDM world as an eco people with serious concern for Mother Earth and Cosmos; 180,000 Photovoltaic Lamps for 60,000 households; REDS has the twin focus of GHG emission reduction and renewable energy promotion
